From the beginning of unionized labour the one thing that remains constant is political pressure. Whether it is wages, benefits, workplace conditions or health and safety we constantly have to defend our collective agreements and labour laws. By electing progressive government officials we can focus on advancing our collective concerns and spend less time defending our current standards.
